GPS were required to upgrade the communal street lighting in the borough; this included garage sites, the leisure centre, alleyways and resident car parking areas. The existing lights were replaced in line with the Borough’s sustainability targets, utilising solar renewable technology. We also added new solar lighting that was not currently available due to lack of power supply.
The upgraded lighting system contributes to a safer environment with brighter light in the area. This has reduced anti-social behaviour, increased the sense of security within this community and has helped the Borough to meet their sustainability target.
